It was an amazing experience to have the opportunity to travel to Slovenia thanks to Erasmus+. We met many wonderful and unique people and collected countless unforgettable memories. It was great that we had a different program every day. During the day, we either explored the city or learned more about their school and culture.

The highlight of each day was always going out for ice cream in the evening. On the first day, we visited an ice cream shop where we received such a warm and friendly welcome that we ended up going back there every single day.

It was also very interesting to hear that there are still Hungarians living in Slovenia, and it was a wonderful feeling to talk with Hungarian people from Slovenia. One day, we were introduced to several applications and learned what they could be used for. Unfortunately, I do not remember their names, but they were very useful apps.

It was an invaluable experience to see how open and kind everyone was. The atmosphere cannot even be compared to what I am used to in Slovakia. Overall, it was a truly wonderful and unforgettable experience.

An average day in Slovenia:

We woke up at 7 o’clock every morning. The bathroom was always busy, so we had a schedule for when everyone could use it.

After breakfast, we went to school and took part in different activities. We went on trips, played ice-breaking games with the Erasmus students, and learned about recycling. For example, we learned how to make bags from old T-shirts and how to cook without wasting food. We also visited the city and saw many interesting places.

When the activities finished, we usually went back to our accommodation to eat and rest. In the evening, around 7 p.m., we went for a walk in the city and ate ice cream. It was the best part of the day because we could relax.

My favourite experience was eating ice cream and doing a task in Maribor. We had to work in groups and find different places in the city. We saw many beautiful places and sometimes got a little lost while leading our group. We mostly used Google Maps, Bump, and Snapchat during this activity.
